Legal Requirement
You must fulfill all the following criteria:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Be in possession of a Class 4 Driving Licence.
- Must not accumulate more than 12 demerit points at the date of booking for the test and
at the date of taking the test.
Enrollment For Driving Lessons
Presently, Class 5 driving lessons are conducted only by the Singapore Safety Driving Centre
(SSDC). You have to enrol with SSDC to prepare for your Class 5 practical driving test. The

Driving Lesson
Upon enrolling with the Singapore Safety Driving Centre, you will be provided with the
necessary training to learn to drive a Class 5 motor vehicle. As required in SSDC's training
curriculum, you will need to pass its DrivingAssessment Test before you will be allowed to take
the Class 5 practical driving test conducted by Traffic Police.
Practical Driving Test
Upon passing the Class 5 practical driving test, you will be issued with a Class 5 Driving Licence
to allow you to motor vehicles of an unladen weight exceeding7250 kg and not constructed to
carry any load.
