Class 5 Driving Licence - Procedure

Legal Requirement
You must fulfill all the following criteria:

  1. Be at least 21 years of age
  2. Be in possession of a Class 4 Driving Licence.
  3. Must not accumulate more than 12 demerit points at the date of booking for the test and at the date of taking the test.

Enrollment For Driving Lessons
Presently, Class 5 driving lessons are conducted only by the Singapore Safety Driving Centre (SSDC). You have to enrol with SSDC to prepare for your Class 5 practical driving test. The address and contact details of SSDC are specified below:

Driving Lesson
Upon enrolling with the Singapore Safety Driving Centre, you will be provided with the necessary training to learn to drive a Class 5 motor vehicle. As required in SSDC's training curriculum, you will need to pass its DrivingAssessment Test before you will be allowed to take the Class 5 practical driving test conducted by Traffic Police.

Practical Driving Test
Upon passing the Class 5 practical driving test, you will be issued with a Class 5 Driving Licence to allow you to motor vehicles of an unladen weight exceeding7250 kg and not constructed to carry any load.
