FAQ - Class 2B Riding Licence

What are the stages that I have to go through to obtain a Class 2B Motorcycle Licence?
You must pass the Riding Theory Test (RTT), complete your riding training course, and pass the Practical Riding Test (PRT) in order to obtain a Class 2B Motorcycle Licence.

How can I book the Riding Theory Test (RTT)?
The driving school will arrange it for you.

Yes, you can choose your test date with your authorised driving school.

What is the objective of the Practical Riding Test (PRT)?
Under the law, you have to pass the Practical Riding Test (PRT) before you can be issued with a Class 2B Riding Licence. This is to ensure that you can ride safety and competently.

Are there any conditions after obtaining my Class 2B Motorcycle Licence?
Upon obtaining your Class 2B Motorcycle Riding Licence, you will be placed on probation for one year. You should not accumulate more than 12 demerit points during this period. If you do, Traffic Police may revoke your licence.

You are required to display the Probation Plate during the probationary period of 1 year.

Where & how much does it cost to buy the Probation Plate for display?
You can purchase the Probation Plate (P-Plate) at any of the Driving Test Centres. The cost for the Probation Plate is S$9.30.

What is the penalty for failing to display the Probation Plate?
The penalty for failing to display the Probation Plate is S$ 120.00 without demerit points. However, the driving licence will be revoked for the repeated offender.
